Blog - Summarizing passage

P1

Donald Trump is tearing the history scar in Mexico inflicted by America

P2

Donald Trump lies about the role of Mexico -- America is victim

P3

Effort of nullify the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo is being proposed and considered

P4

The proposal of nullify the Treaty have solid stand - violation of international law and flaws in dealing with citizenship

P5

Possible obstacle for implement- different law system, the acknowledgement of state about the validity of treaty

P6

Different situation - the treaty was signed by both government; United Stated does not recognize the compulsory jurisdiction of the international court

P7

Political reasoning - obscale from the political side

P8

The debate of history raised another question: How does the land from Mexico contribute to the prosperity of the United State.

P9

A series of allusion - Historical precursors indicated that the war involves with territory annexation could result the most casualty and cost

P10

Continous to portray the heinous and odious image of warfare that aims to enlarge territory; contradicted with the democratic and christian value

P11

Though Mr. Cardena's project might sound and indeed impractical, its public influence is significant in fight again Donald Trump's unfair attack to Mexico

P12

United States lacks and should  address about the issue of imperial war in public.

P13

Media tried to hide the hideous side of America - slave, indian American. Another one would be the imperial war against Mexico

P14

The descendent of North Mexico in some Southern state choose not embrace the American pride and regard the war as a disgraceful page of history. Now it is the time for their thought to be spread and recognize

P15

Calling Mexican to reconquest the memory of war promoted by racial injustice and greed for territory

P16

The best way of compensation is to reform immigration and gave citizenship for Mexican who lose their land

Summary

This article discussed the plan to nullify the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo along with its feasibility and effect. Though Mexican have reasonable evidences to reclaim their lost territory, it is unlikely that such proposal will come true due to US's denial to the international court and the law discrepancy between now and a century ago, and other miscellaneous reasons. Nevertheless, the idea of negotiation about the lost territory will help unifying people for fighting against Trump, uncover another long-hidden sin of US, and reduce American Mexican's suffering.

Prediction:

Similar to the that of the article, I think the suggestion of reclaiming the land will not came to reality. Nevertheless, such proposal is an essential and necessary step for Mexican to step up against America's unfair treatment and unjust law to Mexican people. Though it seems impossible for Mexico to regain half of its land, it is likely that in the future, United States government will take the suffering of Mexican people into consideration as the result of the protest derivates from the debate of the historical territory dispute.
