1. Why did Americans need better ways to travel?
  • There is a HHHHUUUUGGGGEEEE amount of people seeks moving to west.
2. How did railroad improve transportation?
  • It boasted the speed of traveling, reduced the effect of weather to some extent, and jointed a numbers of major cities.
3. Who were the mountain men?
  • Mountain men are peoples who reside in mountain and know the wildness.
4. What were two main trails to the far west?
  •  Oregon Trail and The Santa Fe Trail
5. What was Manifest Destiny? 
  • Belief that all Americans had the right to live on any land between the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans.
6. How did American settle Texas?
  • They moved to Texas promoted by Stephen F. Austin, whose father started a colony in Texas that was belong to Mexico.
7. What happened at the battle of the Alamo?
  • 200 Texans went fight with 4,000 Mexican solider.  Mexican won and all the Texans got killed.
8. What started the war with Mexico?
  • Disagreement with boundary between American and Mexico.

    • Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna and his Mexican troops VS Texans
  • As a settler living under Mexican rule in southwest, why might you have wanted your own independent state?
    • As American become the dominant population in Texas, it is reasonable to ask for independence, since a Mexico reign will not favor American people.
  • Unknown weather, geography; unfamiliar people/tribe on the road (Might be helpful).
