Today we talked about the Pilgrim and the Puritan. Mr. Schick assigned us a project about the difference of these two groups of people. Below are notes taken today
  • Pilgrim - a group who separated from the Church of England
  • They travel for pursuing their belief
  • The name of their ship is "Mayflower"
  • The troubles that Pilgrim encountered are: Lacking food supply, cold weather, illness among the settlers.
  • They received assistance from Native indian tribe Wampanoag

  • Puritans - Come after Pilgrim
  • They come to New England for religious freedom in 1628
  • They want to make the Church of England more pure
  • In 1630, they set up the Massachusetts Bay Colony and settled around the Boston.
